Refrigerated display cases are used for displaying less shelf life fruits like grapes, strawberries and vegetables. Since display cases usually do not have the refrigeration capacity to cool the products.

It is important to ensure that the product is near its recommended temperature when it is placed in the display case. Refrigerated display cases have either a horizontal or vertical airflow system and either single-tier or multi-tier display shelves.

Two common types of refrigeration methods are used in refrigerated display counters.

1. Forced Air System:

This type of refrigerated display counter relies on fans to force air through the system. It is often used to display bakery products like pies, cakes, danishes, prepackaged products, and lunch meats. The constant air circulation can dry out the items if not kept covered. This type of unit is best used for packaged items

2. Gravity Coil:

This refrigeration unit uses a coil at the top of the cabinet to emit cold air, which then falls via gravity. It can safely store raw meats, seafood, salads, and other deli products.

Other refrigerated models are open-air, and while these are great for impulse buys and peak business hours, you will have to pay extra attention to where they’re located.

Open-air models

Open-air models should not receive direct sunlight, nor should they be located under ventilation or air conditioning ducts. The additional heat and airflow will result in a disruption of the air curtain circulating throughout the merchandiser, and as a result, the case may not be able to hold food at safe temperatures.

Freezing is an excellent way to preserve the most fresh foods. Freshness and quality at the time of freezing affect the condition of frozen foods. If frozen at peak quality, food tastes better than food frozen near the end of its expiry. If proper techniques and correct temperatures are used, your food will retain most of its vitamin content, natural colour, flavour, and texture.

These types of counters are used to display and keep fish fresh for as long as possible. Are made of stainless steel which is easily washable and hygienic. A front polycarbonate guard is provided to retain cooling and visibility. These can be made in different dimensions using 304-grade stainless steel sheets.

There are many models and types of fish display counters available in the market.
