When painting a room one should cover and protect the floor using Canvas drop cloths, Spilled paint doesn't soak through canvas as it does though bed sheet or other lightweight cloth, and canvas is safer to walk on than plastic sheets.
Make sure that the room has adequate lighting. Even if there is a lot of natural light, always have halogen work lights
Even if a room has no stains or damage,it is recommend use a primer coat before you apply the finish coat. It will not only helps to seal the surface, but it also will makes the finish coat go on more evenly, to give a better finish.

Smoothing the walls between coats is a always recommended since it will smooth out any lumps or derbies in the first coat, A work light will help to find any lumps or debris. A light sanding will smooth everything out and will give better finished painted surface.
Start painting the ceilings first then go on with the walls.Calculate the cost and quantity of paint you’ll need.Choose products according to your tentative budget.
