HOW TO MAINTAIN WOODEN DECKING
To maintain the appealing appearance and protect the integrity of the timber decking, it is vital to take simple steps to retain the deckings’ optimum performance and durability every 6 months.
STEP 1- Rinse all timber to be treated, with running water to remove dirt and oil from surface and allow to dry. For
deckings that are painted, sanding is required to restore to the original bare timber before cleaning.
STEP 2- Ensure the timber protective oil is well mixed before application. Apply the oil generously using a good
quality brush to coat the wood slats with the oil thoroughly. Use multi-directional strokes to ensure all grains are evenly treated. Work the oil into the timber and let it set for a few minutes before proceeding to wipe off the excess oil and allowing to dry.
STEP 3- Allow 18 hours of drying time* between coats. (*Low temperature and high humidity days require longer drying
intervals.)
STEP 4- Apply second coat of oil, repeating similar process as described in step 2.
