A curtain /or drape could be a piece of cloth intended to reduce the intensity of light, or drafts, or water.

Curtains are typically prevailed the within of a building's windows to dam the passage of sunshine, for example at night to aid sleeping, or for privacy reasons. They're conjointly called "draperies". Curtains hung over a doorway are known as portières.

Curtains are available in a spread of shapes, materials, sizes, colours and patterns. Curtains are a style of window treatment, which completes the aesthetics of the house or an office. Window treatment helps in controlling the ambience and the flow of natural light into an area.

The result of selected materials for curtains is best seen in daylight, and with correct indoor lighting, will look engaging even at night-time.
